Coffee Machine and Emperor Karl

An old-fashioned espresso machine, topped by a bronze eagle, and a portrait of Emperor Karl (Charles I of Austria), the last sovereign of the Danubian Monarchy...
That's what Eva mentioned while telling Mark about Károly's café in her hometown. That's exactly what Mark saw during his "Southern investigation", along with a lot of other details. True details of an unbelievable and enigmatic story.
Вход в кафе "У Кароля" был зажат между магазином писчебумажных принадлежностей и бакалейной лавкой. Я знал, что нас ждет: три ступеньки вниз, грубый каменный пол, дубовые столы и буковые стулья, окна, выходящие во внутренний двор, где колышется трехцветный тент, бронзовый орел, восседающий на кофейной машине, и портрет императора Карла на стене слева. А у хозяина должны быть большие, желтые от табака усы. Захотелось зажмуриться, как в детстве. Раз, два, три!
